Panoramic views, aerial photos, plans and reconstructions allow you to complete a complete itinerary in the Valley of the Temples of Agrigento, which with its fusion of history, art and nature is one of the most exceptional archaeological complexes in the Mediterranean. Founded towards the end of the 6th century BC as Akragas, close to the sea and surrounded by mighty walls, the city reached its apogee a century later, becoming one of the most important of Magna Graecia. The site is home to grandiose Doric temples, among which those of Concordia and Juno stand out, evidence of the supremacy achieved. In the Regional Archaeological Museum, the history of the city and the hill of the temples is retraced with finds of timeless charm, in the Kolymbethra you can savour the pleasure of walking in a Sicilian 'garden' full of citrus fruits and scented essences. Since 1997, the Valley of the Temples has been recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, thanks to its exceptional state of conservation and the universal value of its architecture.
